Playing the game
How do I play?
Each level gives you a set of glass jars filled with mixed candy. Tap a jar to pick it up, then tap another jar to pour. The whole run of matching colours at the top of the source jar moves across, as long as the destination is empty or already topped with the same colour.
Fill every jar with a single colour and the level is complete.
I am stuck on a level. What are my options?
You have four tools. Undo reverses your last pour, Shuffle redistributes the board, Hint points out a move worth making, and Add jar buys you one extra empty jar with gold.
Each level gives you free charges of the first three. If a level still refuses to break, giving up costs a life but keeps all your progress — you can come back to it later.
How do lives work?
You lose a life when you give up on a level, not when you take a long time over it. Lives refill on their own over time, so there is no need to keep the app open.
What is the difference between Normal, Hard and Super Hard levels?
Difficulty is marked on the level badge before you start. Harder levels use tighter jar counts and more machinery, and they pay out three to five times the usual gold when you clear them.
When do Teams and the Leaderboard unlock?
Teams unlock at level 39 and the weekly Leaderboard at level 40. Both stay locked until then so that new players are not dropped into a competition they have no context for.
Progress, accounts and your data
How do I save my progress?
Open Settings from the main menu and choose Save your progress. You can link your progress to a Google, Apple or Facebook account. Once linked, your levels, gold and profile follow you to a new device.
Until you link an account, your progress lives only on that device. If you delete the app or change phones, it cannot be recovered — so it is worth doing early.
I lost my progress. Can you restore it?
If you had linked a Google, Apple or Facebook account, sign in with the same account on the new device and your progress will come back.
If you were never signed in, we have no way to identify the save, because unlinked progress is stored on the device rather than on our servers. Email uniqgames@gmail.com anyway — if there is anything we can do, we will.
How do I change my display name or avatar?
Tap your profile on the main menu. Your display name is what other players see on the Leaderboard and in Teams, so please keep it appropriate — we remove names that are offensive or that impersonate someone else.
How do I delete my account and all of my data?
In the game, open Settings → Terms & Privacy → Delete Account. This removes your account and the data associated with it: your level progress, gold, boosters, profile, leaderboard entries and team membership.
You get 30 days to change your mind. The deletion is carried out 30 days after you request it. If you open the game again before that, your account is restored exactly as you left it. Once the 30 days pass, the deletion is permanent and nothing can be recovered.
If you cannot reach the in-game option, email uniqgames@gmail.com from the address linked to your account and we will handle it for you.
How do I request a copy of my data?
Email uniqgames@gmail.com with the account you signed in with. We will respond within the period required by the law that applies to you, and within 30 days at the latest. See the Privacy Policy for the full list of rights available to you.
Can I control what data is collected?
Yes. Visit Privacy preferences and the Cookie Policy to review the categories, and see the Privacy Policy for what each one covers and how to opt out.
Parental controls
What can I restrict?
Open Settings → Parental Control. You can switch off purchases and switch off chat and social features independently, then protect both with a PIN so they cannot be changed back without you.
I forgot the parental control PIN.
Recovery uses the email address entered when the PIN was created. If that address is no longer reachable, email uniqgames@gmail.com from the account linked to the game and we will help you reset it.
Is the game suitable for children?
Monster Trip is a non-violent puzzle game designed to be family friendly. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Parents can read the details in our Privacy Policy.
Technical problems
The game crashes, freezes or will not load.
Try these in order: close and reopen the app, restart the device, check that you are on the latest version from the App Store or Google Play, and confirm you have a working internet connection for features that need one.
If it still happens, send us a report using the details below. Crash reports help enormously.
I am not receiving notifications.
Check the toggle in Settings inside the game, then check that notifications are allowed for Monster Trip in your device's system settings. Both have to be on.
Sound or haptics are not working.
Music, sound effects and haptics each have their own toggle in Settings, and there is a second set inside a level from the gear icon. Also check that your device is not in silent mode and that system haptics are enabled.
Reporting a problem
Email uniqgames@gmail.com. Including the following turns a two-week back-and-forth into a single reply:
- Your device model and operating system version
- The game version, as shown on your app store page for Monster Trip
- Your display name, and the account you signed in with if you linked one
- The level number, if the problem happens on a specific level
- What you expected to happen, and what happened instead
- A screenshot or screen recording, if you can capture one
Please do not share your password with us. We will never ask for it. We sign you in through Google, Apple or Facebook, so we never see it in the first place.
